Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Alfa Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences (AJEAS) has adopted the principle of publishing qualified scientific studies in the fields of basic engineering sciences. In this context, our Journal; It publishes articles that comply with the rules set out in the principles and guidelines explained on the website of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). As a result of detecting situations such as incorrect transfer or distortion of the data created by the authors in the articles, transferring the study without including scientific data, and sending the translation of the paper published in Turkish as a full text to this Journal, the article authors will be notified of this situation and their work will not be accepted. All stakeholders (Editor, Author, Reviewer, Publisher and Reader) who contribute to the publication of scientific work within our journal are expected to comply with Publication Ethics and Journal Policy. In line with these expectations, the duties and responsibilities of stakeholders are listed below:


Duties of the Editorial Board

The Editorial Board is responsible for improving the scientific quality of Alfa Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences (AJEAS) and making efforts to have it scanned and indexed on various scientific platforms. The Editorial Board attaches importance to the confidentiality of the studies sent to the Journal, and does not share any information about these articles with third parties, does not provide information about the authors mentioned in the articles, and does not share information about the authors and referees. The Editorial Board is responsible for each article applied to the journal, and the Editorial Board decides on examining the article to be published, selecting and sending it to the referees in a transparent manner, taking into account the subject of their work, and determining the acceptance/rejection status. While the Editorial Board makes positive or negative decisions regarding the publication of articles in the Journal; It pays attention to the contribution of the article to the field, its distinguishability from other studies in the relevant field, the validity of the research methods, the clarity of the expression and the provision of a sufficient number of references. Articles are sent to referees for evaluation in accordance with the blind peer review process, without specifying the author's name. Evaluations and suggestions from referees are sent to the authors without sharing referee information. After the necessary corrections, the final decision to publish the article in the journal is made by the Editorial Board.


Duties of the Reviewers

While the referees agree to evaluate the articles sent to them, they declare that these articles are related to their fields of expertise. Referees must respond positively or negatively to invitations to evaluate articles within the time allotted to them. The referee(s) who agree to evaluate the article are responsible for evaluating the article within the time given to them. Within the framework of the Code of Ethics, referees must stay away from conflicts of interest, and if they notice that any study is based on a conflict of interest, they must inform the Editorial Board and refuse to evaluate the study. Referees must act in accordance with the principles of confidentiality and impartiality during and after the evaluation process, fill out the Publication Evaluation Form and make positive/negative comments about the article they evaluate in line with academic principles. Referees make evaluations depending on the language of the submission.


Duties of the Author(s)

Authors should not send a study to our Journal that is under evaluation in another journal. Authors must submit their works to our Journal in accordance with the Ethical Principles and Rules. In this context, if necessary, the Ethics Committee Approval Letter should be sent to our Journal during the application. In the article, all situations where an Ethics Committee Decision is/is not required should be explained in a paragraph above the "Resources" heading. Authors are responsible for the content, expression, language and originality of the articles they submit. Relevant programs will be used for plagiarism research (Turnitin, iThenticate or intihal.net), and the similarity rate should not exceed 20%. Studies above this rate will be rejected at the pre-check stage. Authors are required to submit the data they use in their articles, the document showing the approval of the relevant institutions/organizations in cases where they are received from institutions/organizations, and the Copyright Transfer Form to our Journal. Before the accepted articles are published in our Journal, they must be examined by the authors for preliminary approval, necessary corrections must be made within the specified period, and printing approval must be given. After the article is published, authors requesting any changes must contact the Editorial Board within the first 5 business days after the publication date. Authors should use the contact button on the Dergipark Web Page in all correspondence regarding the article. Correspondence sent to the editors' personal e-mail addresses is not taken into account within the framework of the Code of Ethics.


Policy of Journal

No fee is requested from the authors for the evaluation and publication of the articles by the Journal. The evaluation process of our journal is given below:

Additional time to be given for all cases where the processing time has passed: 5 days
Maximum time required to process a new article: 10 days
Maximum time given to the secretary while in the secretary step: 10 days
Maximum time required for the editor to take over the article (Check Complete Step): 10 days
Maximum time required for the editor to continue processing after committing (In Editor Step): 10 days
Maximum time allowed to continue processing after the article is ready for decision (Ready for Decision Step): 7 days
Maximum time for the editor to make a decision (Waiting for Decision Step): 7 days
Maximum time given to the editor for the publication process (Publication Process Step): 10 days
Maximum processing time for Spelling, Language, Statistics Editor and Proofreader: 15 days
Maximum processing time for Layout Editor: 20 days
Time given when re-sent to the author: 15 days
Time given to the author for minor revision: 10 days
Time given to the author for major revision: 20 days
Response time to the invitation sent to the referee for evaluation: 7 days
Evaluation period given to the referee: 15 days
