Abstract

To be able to use and share the high level structured with rich semantics of clinical information within the electronic systems in a distributed environment has been the focus of studies in the field of health information technologies in recent years. Data standards are the common and consistent way, which is agreed on, to record the information. The data modeled according to a specific standard can be transmitted between different systems, and it is obtained that the data can have the same meaning from program to program, system to system and institution to institution. The health information that is described by the standards includes only the data; therefore it must be supported by the information technologies in order to process this data. This subject can be provided with the semantic web technologies that support information sharing and interoperability among the computer systems and its users. In this work, the needs of health information standards for medical information systems and how the semantic web technologies can support these requirements are proposed. In addition, a case study, that describes the development stages of the domain ontology for vaccine which is one of health applications for immunization, is given. The National Vaccine Ontology (UAO), which is developed for representing the knowledge base that includes health information standards, presents an application example for a health information system

TIBBİ BİLİŞİM STANDARTLARI VE ANLAMSAL WEB: AŞI ONTOLOJİSİ İÇİN DURUM ÇALIŞMASI

Abstract

Dağıtık ortamlarda bulunan yüksek düzeyde yapılandırılmış ve zengin anlamsallığı olan klinik bilgiyi elektronik sistemler üzerinden kullanabilmek ve paylaşabilmek, son yıllarda bilgi teknolojilerinin sağlık alanındaki çalışmalarının odak noktası olmuştur. Veri standartları, bilgiyi kayıt altına almak için üzerinde anlaşılmaya varılan, ortak ve tutarlı bir yoldur. Belirli bir standart ile modellenen veri, farklı sistemler arasında iletilebilir ve verinin sistemden sisteme, programdan programa ve kurumdan kuruma aynı anlama sahip olması sağlanabilmektedir. Standartlar ile tanımlanan sağlık bilgilerinin sadece veri içermektedir; bu nedenle de verinin işlenebilmesi için bilgi teknolojilerinden destek alınması gerekmektedir. Bu nokta ise, insanlar ve bilgisayar sistemleri arasında bilgi paylaşımı ve birlikte çalışabilirliği destekleyen anlamsal web teknolojileri ile sağlanabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, sağlık bilgi sistemleri için tıbbi bilişim standartlarının gereksinimlerine ve bu gereksinimlerin anlamsal web teknolojileri ile desteklenebileceği önerilmektedir. Ayrıca, durum çalışması olarak da bağışıklık kazandırmak için yapılan sağlık uygulamalarından biri olan aşı için bir alan ontolojisi geliştirme adımlarına yer verilmektedir. Bir bilgi siteminin bilgi tabanını tanımlamak üzere tıbbi bilişim standartlarını da kapsayacak şekilde geliştirilen Ulusal Aşı Ontolojisi (UAO), sağlık bilgi sistemleri için bir uygulama örneği sunmaktadır.
