Abstract
This paper aims to draw attention
to the importance of indoor air quality. It investigates the effects which
cause poor quality of air, aims at researching the health issues which are
influenced by the poor air conditions indoors. It touches upon quality of air
in tourist establishments and aims to add to Turkish literature on which there
are only few studies. This paper focuses on how the issue be made operational by
giving the ways to comply to the indoor air quality standarts. It shows that
the health problems related with the poor air quality indoors starts with small
mukous membrane problems to respiratory and other serious illnesses. In order
to prevent poor indoor air quality requirements of the standards by the WHO and
ASHRAE should be complied. To do this, the effects of harmful gases and
particule matter should be carefully monitored and these substances should be
eliminated.

Abstract
Bu araştırma bina içi hava
kalitesini ve bunu etkileyen faktörleri ele alarak, kötü hava kalitesinin
sağlık üzerine etkileri üzerinde durmaktadır. Amaç, konunun sağlık açısından
gösterdiği öneme ve kötü hava kalitesinin sağlığa etkilerine dikkat çekerek,
turistik tesislerde konuya verilen önemin arttırılmasına ve konuyla ilgili
sınırlı sayıda bulunan Türkçe literatüre katkıda bulunmaktır. Araştırmalar,
bina içindeki kötü hava kalitesinin ağız, burun ve göz mukozası başta olmak
üzere küçük çaplı semptomlardan, ciddi solunum yolu rahatsızlıklarına kadar
etken olabildiğini vurgulamaktadır. Bu çalışmada hava kalitesini etkileyen
faktörler ile kötü hava kalitesinin insan sağlığına etkileri ve iyi hava
kalitesi için gerekli önlemler üzerinde durulmaktadır. Bu önlemler arasında bina
içi iyi hava kalitesini sağlamak için havadaki zararlı gaz ve bileşikler ile
partikül maddelerin kaynağının bulunması ve bunların elimine edilmesi
gösterilmektedir.
