Effects of Ozoned Irrigation Water and Temperature on Germination and Seedling Development of Hungarian Vetch (Vicia pannonica) Seed

Abstract

Bu çalışma ozon gazının (O3) ve sıcaklığın Macar fiği tohumunun çimlenmesi ve fide gelişimi üzerine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada Macar fiği tohumları, kontrol grubu (150 mV) ve 3 farklı (300 mV, 450 mV ve 600 mV) ozonlu sulama suyu ile 3 farklı sıcaklıkta (10 ℃, 15 ℃ ve 20 ℃) ışıklı ortamda 14 gün süre ile çimlendirilmiştir. Çalışmada, çimlenme oranı, kök, gövde ve fide uzunluğu, yaş ve kuru ağırlık ve vigor indeks değerleri incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonuçlarına göre; farklı çimlenme sıcaklıklarının kontrole kıyas ile Macar fiği tohumlarının çimlenme, kök ve fide gelişimini, ozon dozu uygulamalarının ise fide yaş ve kuru ağırlığını olumlu yönde etkilediği belirlenmiştir.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of ozone gas (O3) and temperature on germination of seed and seedling development of Hungarian vetch. In the study, Hungarian vetch seeds were germinated at 3 different temperatures (10 ℃, 15 ℃ and 20 ℃) with ozone irrigation water prepared at control (150 mV) and three different doses (300 mV, 450 mV and 600 mV). Plant seeds germinated for 14 days at daylight environment. In the study, germination rate, root, stem and seedling length, fresh and dry weight and vigor index values were examined. The results indicated that the ozone-saturated irrigation water applications up to a certain level had a positive effect on the seedling weight while different germination temperatures had a positive effect on the root and seedling development of the Hungarian vetch seeds.
